    Nokia 5230 suspicious app

Look here for info and reviews on viruses and of course how to remove them..

hi,
I am using a nokia 5230 (s60v5 device). From last few days my mobile has been a bit slow. So I looked in the app manager and found 2 apps called

1)AstroyboySky and
2)DietManager

which I never installed. I can't uninstall them through app manager and they are hidden in netquin mobile guard app manager. If I terminate their corresponding processes from netquin mobileguard, they resumes again. I scanned my mobile through kaspersky and netquin mobile antivirus (updated to current) but they found nothing.
Any one can help me to remove those 2 apps or tell definitively that they are virus/malware or not.
Thank you

think those apps are preinstalled and it was installed to your Z drive, no way of removing it as far as i know.
other than that?
since when you noticed the slowness? what you install? try to trace it.

ok thanks, but those process's are not running on my frnd's 5230 for sure. both me and my frnd uses same set of softwares and I'm experiencing sluggishness for 1 week, while my frnd's device is fine. i just wanted to be sure the above mentioned 2 apps are not malware.

why not flash the phone. Then You'l be sure to get rid of any nasty stuff. Or even just plug into ovi suite and hit reinstall firmware. And make sure to format e drive too

ya eventually I'll do that if no other simpler way. Atleast it will give me a valid excuse to upgrade my tiny 2gb memory card :D . but i wanna see first if there is other ways to do it.
At this point I'm sure its a fairly new virus which slugs phone, eats battery and connects gprs automatically.
Looks like netqin is working on the problem. 23/11/2010 update of netqin just rolled out, which detected and removed DietManager completely. It also detected AstroyboySky (C:/sys/bin/20037A20.exe) but cant remove it yet, but now I can terminate the process as soon as my phone boots up and it's not self starting. Also phoney automatic gprs connection stopped.
It might be high time to check your process manager if you are usin a s60v5 device.
