I had to install Opera on my PC to sync it with my cell.
Have never used it before, any suggestions as to what should be the recommended setting, widgets, extensions etc?
Btw G. Chrome is my default browser & like it big time.
Thanks.

First of all, to sync to your phone with Opera, you need an Opera account. It's simple to make one. You can go the the Opera menu, scroll down to Sync Opera and select Configure. From there, it should tell you what to do.
Next, you sign in to Opera Sync on your cell. (From the settings, of course.)
Which phone are we talking about, anyway?

Ah... Settings you say?
Personally, I've not changed anything. It's fast with whatever settings you have. But for extensions, I suggest Youtube Downloader, it lets you download videos with many options, with no mess. It just adds a simple button below the video, that does it directly. Seamlessly. (It modifies the page on-the-fly.)
That's the only extension I use at all. I've got Kick *bottom* as well, it let's you decompose a page with a small plane. The only reason to visit a page you hate.

Well, I have been using Opera for several years and that what I can tell you about it^
1) I like its speed - it is faster than Firefox or Chrome
2) There are less bugs
3) Easily readable layout
4) Flexible settings that are gathered in one section
5) What concern extensions, I have just started to use them, but Firefox has a bigger collection of them

Personally, I believe most the extensions found in Firefox are a bit useless. Opera has the useful ones, like the Youtube downloader. (Hey, the hard way is to search through the temporary files.)
There can be drawn a line between the useful addons and the ones that are unnecessary.
Opera has only a few, yet well written extensions that work as you expect. In Firefox, it's hard to find the ones that are good. (When I tried it once, I couldn't find a working downloader.
)
But again, yes, Opera has very little extensions in comparison.

It looks like some kind of source view, but it's not Dragonfly (The integrated web development software in Opera).
It looks like a display of Javascript and CSS classes used, but that's all I know.
I believe you are better off asking this on Opera's forums.
After all, they are the ones who made the program. They should know what kind of mode you've put the browser in.
