Was just going through some plans with Rogers and Bell (Canada).I decided to go for a new phone with a contract , so just needed some opinions.
the iPhone 4 looks amazing! the screen is so awesome and everything , but I still cant seem to understand whats so special in it which makes its price so high ?..and what does it mean by "Retina Display"
Would someone please tell me whether this phone is worth it ?..and i heard file transfer is not supportable on the Bluetooth.
Should I rather go for the iPhone 3GS ? or is there a major difference between 3GS and 4 which is worth the $50 difference?
I saw the N8 also , but N8 looks pretty boring , Nokia just keeps on making similar things, 5800 ,N97 , N8 , X6 , all look pretty much the same , please clear me if this is not true.
Any other good ideas would also be appreciated.
Thanks.

As far as i jnow, about iPhone, everything is same, and it will allways be.
Iphone is not much of a machine, if you want trouble, get an iphone, if you want machine get n900.
Symbian, well, it is always something different.
After all, if you compare two s60v5 devices, they all will have similar performances, but they are different, very different when you use some options.
For example, mostly, s60v3 had different music players.
Nseries had best player, and i have n97 now, but i miss n81 and its player.
If you did not understood me, look this way, difference between nokias s60v5 are same as differences between windows XP sp1, sp2 and sp3...

n8 will be on a different scale performance wise to 5th edition too, and has quite a feature set, if you want features get the n8, if you care about simple ui, closed environment but lots of simple apps get the iphone, but remember, you can only do with it what steve jobs wants you to do with it lol

I lol'ed when I've learned you can't delete songs from the iPhone without hooking it up to the PC/Mac and iTunes. I mean, seriously??
Everytime I hear an argument from Apple user that Symbian is 'old' and not 'powerful', inability to do such basic task like deleting a song directly on the phone shuts them up with embarassement
. There is probably an app for that
. Screen is great though.

I dont want to see somebody writing about screen who has not saw "Blue Angel". It is wnCE wm5 equipped device by htc in range of s60v2, but no screen can compare to quality of that screen...basicly i was trying to brake it but it is damn too strong...i wish nokia use similr screen protections, i would not care now what kind of stylus should i use...

Hey RockerZ. I don't see the canadian price of the iphone 4 to be out of line with the other smart phones.
In fact its cheaper than any of the unlocked phones I brought before. Its really the contract that makes it expensive and if I was to get an iphone 4, I wait in line and get the unlocked unit at the Apple store.
Don't think any canadian carrier will pick up the N8 so an unlocked N8 will probably be more expensive than iphone 4.
And yea 3gs to 4 is well worth the price difference.

Retina Display is a fancy word chosen in stead of AMOLED. Screen is great though.
I'd pick N8 to iphone. Sure thing. Just coz N8 is a smartphone compared to iphone
