I have a christmas calendar where you can win money, and since i have been so lucky this year, i hope i have enough luck to win something.
Then i would definitively by a N900...
I want it soooo bad...
Else i would need to wait untill May...

And i do hope my school sees it as what it is: a lcomputer and not a phone.

What you're saying is quite unclear. You say that the menu button and status bar, usually located in top-left, aren't visible? And that the desktop is all you can see? Tell me, does it show the widgets on the desktop?
Also, what kind of update did you perform? A firmware upgrade or did you upgrade a couple of programs?
