hello all,

I have my hotmail and gmail email accounts setup on my phone and its been working perfectly since the past 3 months.
Suddenly my hotmail account wont notify me when i get a new email but the gmail one does. I tried sending emails to both accounts and got a notification for 1 new email on my phone from GMAIL. If i go to email and click hotmail then go back and again click hotmail it shows the new email.
But it stopped notifying me ?

Any ideas coz this was working perfectly.

and i also installed the new firmware. Can it have something to do with that ?

I deleted hotmail and set it up again but no success.

Have you accidently set your Gmail account as your your Default email account? I think you dont get notifications for any other accounts if you set one as a default.

Try deleting the Gmail one, and only keep the Hotmail one, and look in the settings and see what you can find.

Let me know how you get on.

Well,

I dont think the default account should pose a problem because it was working perfectly before I installed the new firmware. Also my email setting says update automaticaly every 5 minutes POP and IMAP accounts.

the N900 section on maemo.org has a topic where many users have complained about this problem where hotmail is not updating automatically.

Anyway i have shifted all operations to my GMAIL account now so it doesnt really matter to me.

My hotmail does update once in a while and im not sure if its perfect because everything is on gmail now.

Thanks.

To fix hotmail problem like that, try changing your domain. Or you may try using a software that can let you view your hotmail and gmail without having to sacrifice one of them. If nothing still works, try removing your gmail and just use hotmail or vice versa.
