capacitive screen wouldnt work well on the n900. do u think ud be able to hit the small links on full websites on a capacitive screen, plus things like using easy debian would be out the window, the stylus comes in handy. id rather have the option than not. maybe ur confusing the responsiveness of the os with the responsiveness of the screen caus the screen as more than good enough in that respect. i also dont mind the thickness of the device but i came from an n97 which was almost as big and heavy.

The resistive screen almost kept me from ordering a N900. I believed the crap I was hearing that capacitive was the thing, etc. and was afraid the resistive screen would drive me crazy. Thankfully, the idea of a real linux computer in my pocket and otherwise killer hardware overuled those fears.

After having used capacitive screens for a couple of years and now using the N900's resistive screen for a few months, I never want to have to go back to a capacitive again! To me, a good resistive can do much more.

And it's a bit thick yeah, but not bad, still works well in my pocket. I'd rather have it a bit thick and fully loaded with power, features and a real keyboard than a little thinner and less capable.

I think using AMOLED screen would have made the phone more thinner. though the difference of thikness of the screen(upper slide)& the body(lower slide) will make the phone look odd, lyk N95 or N95 8GB
