Problem unbranding my Nokia N8
Tips, tools and discussions on firmware editing/customizes roms.

Hi everyone!
I just got my Nokia N8 3 weeks ago. It was Rogers (Canada) branded with firmware 11.something. Since Rogers never-never gives update, I reflashed my N8 with the NAM firmware (after doing the full reset that delete everything including Qt).
Now, everything is perfect (yep, even Qt files where reinstalled during the flash process)
BUT I have two problems/question
1 - My 16gb memory is empty! No video, no music, no wallpapers. How come? The FSPX file is 3gb! Is it just a file full of garbages that do simply nothing or did I missed something while flashing to get the content back on my phone?
2 - When I select the "Connect PC to Web" option in the USB mode (last option), a virtual cd-rom drive pop-up into Windows. Since I had an E71, I know that this virtual drive should include a small program to use the phone as a modem. But problem is... the virtual cd-rom drive is completly empty! I get a "No cd in drive" error into Windows. I tried it on many computers, same thing. Although I use Joikuspot most of the time, I want to use it at job on a computer that don't have WiFi and I would prefer not to have to install the full Ovi suite. Anyway to get this back?
Thanks again!

Yes! I was able to get back everything! This time, while flashing, I went in the advanced option of Phoenix and made the two "Optional" file "Mandatory".
This gave me back the following :
- Ovi Maps software
- Ovi Store software
- National geographics widget
- Paramount video widget
- Sample music
- Tron sample video
- Wallpapers
- Pictures
- Ovi Suite installer
- Connect Pc to Web option
- All north america (Canada+USA+Mexico) maps + voice for Ovi Maps
- 3 games

Thanks
I found a lot of different guid and how-to on the net about unbranding the N8, but none was able to tell me how to unbrand the phone BUT get all the "goodies" back.
I think I will write my own guide to help others.
