Help!! How to install CFW on n97 mini v30 [solved]

Hello,

I have a problem. I've recently found out about CFW's and I saw some pictures of 'em and I really want to 'port' or somewhat, to my Nokia N97 mini (RM-555)(v30). Can someone tell me step-by-step instructions and what I need for 'flashing'.

go here and look for tutorial on flashing n8. pretty much the same except for the RM-596 instead of RM-555.

for phoenix or jaf and the modded firmwares just google for it.
for cfw, i couldn't find one that i really like (tried few), so i can't recommend one for you.

Hmm... I still have a problem, I do everything the tutorial says (not on youtube) and when I press 'Refurbish' it says 'Getting list of files to be flashed failed: 0x84210021(-2078212063) - Firmware: CRC checksum of file 'c:\program files (x86)\nokia\phoenix\products\RM-555\RM-555_30.0.004_prd.rofs2.V15' does not match with the checksum in data-packege.' I don't know what to do, I tried to flash this CFW http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php?topic=52766.0 HELP...

Try with jaf bro, or you replaced evdrything manually from "options" in phoenix.

i;ve tried downloading JAF but all of em showed errors
could u tell me a good website to download it im using windows 7 ultimate

Oh sorry..nvm i got JAF going but ive got another problem...

I did everything the youtube video said and got to this but when it says power on now i do it and its loading but after a few seconds it says not found and then after a few seconds my phone boots up and thats it
what to do?

We will now set JAF, go to the tab "BB5", check "Manual Flash", "Dead USB", "Factory Set" and "Normal Mode".
Uncheck "CRT 308" and check "Use INI", a window opens scroll down and select "RM-555 Nokia N97-4 N97 CABLE".

this the full tutorial that i used for jaf.

64-bit Windows (XP, Vista, or 7):

Right click on JAFSetup_1.98.62.exe then Properties> Compatibility> Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"> Windows XP (Service Pack 3). You can now start the installation of JAF. Two errors should occur when copying files each time the program click OK and let the installation proceed. At the end of the process a window appears asking if Windows installation was successful, click "This program installed correctly".
Then copy the jaf_nok4models.ini in C: \ Program Files (x86) \ ODEON \ JAF
Finally as JAFSETUP_1.98.62.exe right click on JAF PKEY EMULATOR FULL BY STBSL GSmMAster - 12.exe version then Properties> Compatibility> Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"> Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

Extract the. Zip file containing the downloaded firmware (example: N97 v30.0.004 Symbian xxxxx VERSION 1.0.zip) in C: \ Program Files \ Nokia \ Phoenix \ Products \ RM-555 if you are 32-bit Windows or C : \ Program Files (x86) \ Nokia \ Phoenix \ Products \ RM-555 if you are 64-bit Windows.
Here is your file as it should appear (in this case Windows 7 64-bit):



Flashing procedure:



We are: everything is ready, it remains for us to set up and run the JAF flash ...
To avoid problems with antivirus I recommend you first to disable it before of course to have cut off all network access. Also close any open like Nokia Ovi Suite, in the notifications bar (icons at the bottom left of the screen) make a right click on Ovi Suite and then "Exit".
Run JAF PKEY EMULATOR FULL BY STBSL GSmMAster - 12.exe version, a window opens click "Open." An error message appears, click OK and JAF is running, but under no circumstances close the window of the launcher.

i did everything it said but the tutorial didnt say to check normal mode and factory set ill try it now (fingers crossed)
