in N97 change 'show open apps' i couldnt find the file avkon2.r01 in z/resource i found the files :
avkon.r01
avkon.r02
avkon.r04
avkon.r37
so what should i do?

what does avkon.r01 have inside, does it say show open apps anywhere when opened in hex editor?

and btw i cant get the c2z patch to start automatically so any iedas? and You said you renamed 0RPAutoStart.exe to RPAutoStart.exe,in mine it is already RPAutoStart.exe so i tried to change it to 0RPAutoStart.exe and nothing happened
so... any ideas ?

yeah change showcopen apps in that file and put it on c. u want it to have 0 in front of it but with rp2 i had to copy rompatcherauto.exe rename it and copy back

i did say in the instructions for c2z4bin to rename RPAutoStart.exe to 0RPAutoStart.exe when first applying the splashscreen! looks like you missed that part out bro, had lots of probs getting patches to autostart myself until i renamed it back to RPAutoStart.exe i also deactivated all patches and rebooted, then renamed back and reapplied patches, your just gonna have to play around with it until it works,
make sure your using a version of RP that autostarts too
as i had one that wouldnt autostart anything!

and holding menu key shows the text 'Open_applications:'
its on line 006d96 (18 digits here)

yes in N97 the file is Avkon.R01, my mistake!
(avkon2.R01 is in the N95)

also in my n97 menu the word options can be changed in this file, its on line 000b94 (7 digits to play with)
i renamed mine 'leetut!'
and in applications the same word is on line 000b05

im sure the word options on the homescreen can be changed but ive been unsuccessful with it so far, its also probably in this avkon file but i think its loaded before c2z,
therefor phone reads the file on z/ when loading the home screen,

sorry for not being able to show screenshots but i cant get any of the screenshot apps to work on my n97 anymore,
ill try after my next hard reset!

but copying the whole program to c/ is easy and works using c2z4bin,

Might be a dum question but referring to first page avkon2.r01 file, my N97 does not have it, just avkon2.mbm and avkon2.mif, i do have just avkon.r10, instead of having *.r01, mine has *.r10 file as English.

Yes I know I'm using that method right now but I want to do it through a patch because I want to use the "reset on long power press" patch by wadowice and I can't when sysap is in c: drive.
I think it is possible with a patch on 5800 since the "reset on long power press" is patching sysap and that patch is working on 5800.

So maybe we can change bootup and shutdown splashscreens with a patch on the 5800? but not on n97
