put the unzipped folders on your phone (memory card or mass memory)

using xplore with open4all patch applied via rompatcher:
put the 101f8763.txt file in c/private/10202be9

put the 101f8763.cre file in c/private/10202be9/persists

rename any mbm animations you use to Startup.mbm
and put the Startup.mbm in c/resource/apps

rename any sounds you use to Startup_tone.mp3
and put them in c/data
included are 2 startup sounds in mp3 format

TO CHANGE YOUR N97 BOOTUP SPLASHSCREEN

download and extract this:

put C_sys_hash_domainsrv.exe in c/sys/hash then rename it to 'domainsrv.exe'

put F_sys_bin_domainsrv.exe in f/sys/bin and rename it 'domainsrv.exe'
then reboot phone

goto c/sys/bin and rename 'RPAutostart.exe' to '0RPAutostart.exe' (the number 0)

put c2z4bin_THUMB.rmp in e/patches and apply it with autostart

put SplashScreen.exe in c/sys/bin

and put SplashScreen.mif in c/resource/apps

there are various splashscreen mifs in the zip file, just view the jpeg images to see which one you want then rename the relevant mif to SplashScreen.mif (for startup) or SysAp.mif (for shutdown)

N97 change 'show open apps' text

in every pop up menu, at the top of the list shows 'show open apps'
and holding the menu key brings up 'open applications:'
change these by copying and editing avkon.r01 (if using english language) from z/resource to c/resource
the text to edit is near the bottom of the file when using xplores hex editor

to change the text 'Show_open_apps.' its on line 006ce0
(if using xplores hex editor in landscape mode)
(15 digits to play with)
and holding menu key shows the text 'Open_applications:'
its on line 006d96 (18 digits here)

find the file in z/resource
then put the edited file in c/resource and apply c2z

you can rename your standard nokia menu items by editing matrixmenudata.dtd copy it from z/private/200113dd to the same location on c/ and reboot phone

changed a few icons here (blue logos to pinklogos, and changed the word 'facebook') but they can all be changed as long as you resize the new icons to the original size,
download and extract this file:

RENAME YOUR N97 INBOX

put the msgs.r01 file in c/resource/messaging
you probably have to create the folder 'messaging' in c/resource

open it with xplores hex editor (key8)
and change the text 'PUT_UR_TXT_HERE'



you have 15 digits to play with including the spaces
mine is just 'lee's inbox' i only use 11 digits so i hide the 4 unused digits on the end with blank spaces.
dont change any other parts of the file and it will work fine

c2z is needed on autostart for your text to load, then it can be turned off

N97 RESET ON POWER LONG PRESS

This mod was created by BudSpencer.
THX to wadowice and Basil for the Reset On Power Long Press patch for 5800 and c2z4bin patch!

Before u begin u have to know the following:

YOUR PHONE NEEDS TO BE HACKED!
ROMPatcher must be installed in drive C: not in drive E:

This mod was tested on my N97 with firmware v12 only! It is very importan to copy the domainsrv.exe to the removeable memory card! Otherwise u may have to format your phone if an error occurs.
I'm not responsible for any problems with your phone! Just do what i say!

This mod gives u the possibility to restart your phone just by long pressing the power button. You still can turn off your phone by short pressing the power button and choose turn off.

The mod works as follows:

The file sysap.exe is started while booting up. But on the N97 u cant patch it with rompatcher, because its not in rom. You cant replace the file, because its on drive z: . So the only solution is to place the modded sysap.exe on drive c: and let the system use this file instead of the original one. Therefore we use the rompatcher patch c2z4bin. The problem is that the autostart of rompatcher is launched after the start of sysap.exe. Therefore we need the modded domainsrv.exe, which launches three apps (on eof them is rompatcher) before the original domainsrv is launched.

Here we go:

0a) Copy the files sysap.mif and sysap.r?? from z:\resource\apps to c:\resource\apps
(?? depends on your phone language, for example r01 is for english, r03 for german)
0b) Copy the file sysap_reg.rsc from z:\private\10003a3f\apps to c:\private\10003a3f\apps
(if folder doesnt exist, create it)
1) Copy c2z4bin_THUMB.rmp to E:\patches\
2) Copy C_sys_hash_domainsrv.exe to C:\sys\hash
3) Rename the file C_sys_hash_domainsrv.exe, which you copied in 2) to domainsrv.exe
4) IMPORTANT: Copy the file F_sys_bin_domainsrv.exe to your removeable memory card F:\sys\bin
5) if you are stupid you copied it to drive e and your phone may crash...
6) Rename the file F_sys_bin_domainsrv.exe, which you copied in 4) to domainsrv.exe
7) Copy the modded file sysap.exe to C:\sys\bin
8 ) Rename the file C:\sys\bin\RPAutostart.exe to C:\sys\bin\0RPAutostart.exe
9) Start RomPatcher and add the patch c2z4bin_thumb to autostart
10) Turn off your phone
11) Turn on your phone
12) the mod is ready

It is possible that this mod works for other firmware versions of N97 too...
