Let us help you decide your next Phone!

Hi Everyone,

I was planning to buy a Nokia N97 and out came the N900. I looked at some reviews of the N900 and that it Maemo basesd mobile. Are there any N900 users here who can tell me about the phone in a better way. Is it worth the extra cash?

Also I would like to know that will my messages and other data backup from my old N73 be restored in the N900? I know that the nbu files can be restored in the N97, but is it possible in the N900, because it is on a different platform altogether!

U kidding me. N97? Hell no.
Go for the N900 without any questions.

And yep N900 now costs around 25k in India, which is pretty worth for the device.

And abt the DATA >> U can sync it to ur OVI account and re-sync it with N900.

im scepticle abt buying either of those fones
the n900 will be the one and only maemo device? wats the point of getting it?
the n8 will be the last smartphone with symbian
nokia have really messed up. the iphone is out and the n8 is not yet out.and nokia announched the n8 before apple announced the iphone 4

i say the n97 mini is stil mayb a good choice.til nokia come out with a meego fone next yr

Well sticking to a Symbian phone was my choice because i have lots of important data that i have to transfer from my old phone to the new one, which i can just do a restore of my backup nbu files with the Nokia PC Suite. I just wondered if the Maemo based phone would provide the same compatibility to my old data.

i dont think u wil able to get ur msgs n stuff onto the n900
i say rather go with the n97 mini( the normal n97s memory usage is bad) - if u want to keep ur messages n stuff
otherwise the n900 sounds good.we jus have to pray maemo.org commmunity keeps making apps n stuff for it
as i dont see nokia doing it for too long/they probabaly focusing on the new meego device now

Hey hell_storm2004, wouldn't you rather hold off? I mean both phones you're looking is near the end of their cycles. Not that the C6 brings anything new(actually less) but maybe the price will be lower later on.

I know the N97 is getting old, but wouldn't it serve the purpose for the next two years? It has all the stuff you need to last you that long I think. If there are other options within the same price range then please do let me know.
