emTube for 3rd Edition Devices
Fully Functional YouTube Client
No, no, this is not just another YouTube player believe me, this is the best one so far and definitely brings the first taste of competition to the recently announced MobiTubia the winner of the Nokia developers competition.
Of course, a simple Samir’s YTplayer released few days ago with its very basic functionality can’t compete to these two applications.
Anyway, emTube is a Flash Lite 3 video player, emulated YouTube portal actually with real-time video decoding developed by Sebastian Jedruszkiewicz.
emTube client has a similar functionality as the already mentioned MobiTubia but with a bit simpler user interface and without fancy 3D effects. Although user interface isn’t that fancy it provides all necessary features and even more, it enables mobile users to access flv clips using several different methods, you can search for videos by keywords as well as use one of the predefined feeds like featured video, top rated videos or most viewed videos.
Search results with the name of the video, author as well as preview image will be shown. Additional information will be drawn over the preview icon: the stars represents current video ratings and if particular video has been already added to your list of favorites videos there will be small favorites icon drawn in upper/left corner. More information about the video can be obtained via the menu option “Details
The most important for me is the ability to download and store videos locally on the phone and playback of the stored videos of course, there is an also ability to add videos into favorites and much, much more. All in all extremely stabile application with a nice user interface and impressive set futures, as I have already said this is the first taste of the competition to the MobiTubia client and from end user point of view, competition is always good.

Oh my God, almost forget to mention another great features, features like instant media playback during downloading, no more boring waiting to get the video completely. Actually, an application is to complex for such a short overview so you should give it a tray and share your experience over at our rapidly grooving forum section.
But that’s not all, application is still under heavy development and author promises lot of cool features to come, features like viewing and adding comments to videos, upload videos to your YouTube channel and support for more video portals like DailyMotion as well as fixing the problems with audio playback on Nokia N76 or problems with screen rotation when RotateMe is active. Also we can expect further speed improvements and support for additional audio/video codecs.

Keep in mind that there are two version of the application, the first one that is compatible with most 3rd edition phones out there and another one that is strictly related to the Nokia N95. The N95 specific application, uses the Nokia N95 Accelerometer Plug-in package to hook into the accelerometer, detect movement in the orientation of the phone and change the UI orientation, quite impressive isn’t it?
It seems that some of our dreams comes true and real mobile YouTube client is just one click away, so just get it, enjoy it and don’t forget to make a small donation to the developer, as I have already said somewhere, few beers les or more who care, he definitely deserve it, this is the great freeware pice of soft.

Get it right now, right here or from the nice and simple developer site.
