I ma afraid that I have some really, really bad news for all UIQ and Sony Ericsson fans out there. Two recently leaked UIQ Smartphones that are supposed to be release soon have been cancelled.

Of course I am talking about Sony Ericsson P5 with the code name Paris and Sony Ericsson G702 also known as BeiBei.

Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog reports that Sony Ericsson have decided that that they’ll newer release these phones.

This is extremely surprising news especially considering that there is an FCC approval for G702 and that P5 is already reviewed and the very first commercial has appeared on YouTube few weeks ago!?!?

There is the suggestion that both of these handsets were cancelled due to a large volume of criticism from reviewers and other industry watchers!?

To be completely honest I have anything to say against the G702 which looks as the pretty good mid range device but P5 definitely isn’t as good especially considering that it is supposed the be the next flagship UIQ device!?

The story doesn’t end there because we are hearing that whilst Paris and the G702 may have been cancelled in Europe, they might still make an appearance in Asia.
