Weekend watching:
Yet Another N97 Hands-On Video
Smashpop's Jason Goh, gave us yet another Nokia N97 walkthrough video mostly focused on a highly customized active standby screen, widgets implementation and not very impressive demo of an "improved" S60 Webkit browser engine with an addition of the kinetic scrolling and indication of the well-known sluggishness.
To be perfectly honest with you, I think this has nothing to do with S60 browser dev team, Safaris is still the best browser for S60 devices (obviously this is a very subjective opinion) but it calls for more advanced parts, faster processor, and more RAM which N97 simply can't deliver.
However, I have to admit that Nokia's Julien Fourgeaud has once again done a great job on presenting forthcoming Nokia phone that pretends to fall into "premium" category and take the long lasting flagship title from the oldie Nokia N95 but it fails as many before, and many to come I am afraid.
I know, maybe it is not fair to compare it with Nokia N95 as it was an awesome handset, revolutionary enough to shock and change the whole Smartphone world, change our perception of the mobile phones and increase exceptions and it will always be hard task to follow its spirit!
As a amatter of fcat all these problems leads me to ironic conclusion that: it is not Microsoft, it is not RIM, neither Apple nor Google, Nokia's biggest enemy is Nokia itself and we should get ready to lower our exceptions since it's obvious they cannot get anything done right!!

As I have
already said somewhere, it is still one of the best equipped phones out there as it offers some decent components elsewhere, starting with great form factor, tilt-slide-out QWERTY keyboard and whooping 32 GB of the build in memory expandable through the MicroSD slot, not to mention its quite pleasing high resolution touch sensitive display and with a bit better chipset it will be nearly perfect device.
