New Firmware Update For N97
Available And Confirmed As Hackable
This is just a quick heads up for those of you who haven't seen Leon Plovdiv's forum post about new firmware update (11.0.021 to 12.0.024) for the Nokia N97.
Latest firmware update for company's flagship device is now available through Nokia Software Updater for most of the generic product codes from EMEA and APAC region and is expected to be available for the rest of the world as well as for NAM and branded devices shortly.
Unfortunately it is not available as FOTA update which is by the way the best and the fastest possible way of delivering software updates and it is kind strange why didn't offer it as update over the air!?
There is no detailed chnage log at the moment and I can't see any noticeable changes or improvements but as you would imagine, the firmware update is always recommended as it usually brings improvements in performance and optimizes the functionality of the phone across many applications .
Last but not the least, new software is confirmed as hackable with the latest available method, s so there is really no reason not to update it.
Oh yes, one more thing, Nokia N97 comes with UDP support but it is anyway highly suggestible to back up your phone memory before performing a firmware update as precaution measure in case something goes wrong.
That's all I know for now, I'll try to get the full change log as soon as possible, in mean time join discussion and tells us if there are some noticeable changes.
